Costanza Penna
PhD Student, University of Turin
Costanza is currently a first-year PhD student in Philosophy at the University of Turin, within the
national program “Sustainable Development and Climate Change” and under the supervision of Professor Tiziana Andina. She carries out research in social ontology and ethics.
Her dissertation project deals with social groups in time. Topics of interest include the conditions
for group diachronic persistence, collective memory, responsibility, and transgenerationality.
This line of research allows for a multidisciplinary perspective, bringing philosophy to dialogue with
cognitive and social sciences.
Costanza’s approach has a relevant metaphilosophical component as well. She has developed a
certain sensitivity for philosophical methodologies, their possible interaction, and convergence.
