

Ernesto C. Sferrazza Papa

Ernesto C. Sferrazza Papa is currently Fondecyt Researcher at the Institute of Philosophy of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, where he’s PI of the 3-years research project “Ontology, Politics and Ethics of the Territorial Border”. He received a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Turin in 2016 under the supervision of Prof. Gianluca Cuozzo. He has been a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Rijeka (2016-2017) and of the Collège d’études mondiales in Paris (2017-2018). His research deals with the relation between space and politics, the philosophy of movement and the modern and contemporary political philosophy. He has published articles both in Italian and international scientific journals. He is member of the “Italian Society for Theoretical Philosophy”, the “Italian Society for Political Philosophy”, the “Carl Schmitt Gesellschaft” and the “LabOnt”. He is also member of the scientific board of the “International Consulting Council of the Researching Center for Cultural Exclusion and Borderland Areas”, sponsored by the Sociological Institute of the Russian Academy of Science. His first monograph, Modernità infinità. Saggio sul rapporto tra spazio e potere, Mimesis, 2019, has been granted with the “Parini-Chirio prize for the best original essay in humanities”. His second book is Le pietre e il potere. Una critica filosofica dei muri, Mimesis, 2020. In 2020 he obtained national qualifications (ASN) as “associate professor” both in theoretical philosophy and in political philosophy.
